“Throughout our time apart, I carried an incredible sense of peace knowing Rosie was not only safe, but deeply loved. Mia and Cade cared for her as if she were their own, attending to her needs with attentiveness and joy, and keeping me grounded in the knowledge that my dog was thriving. That peace of mind was truly priceless during a vulnerable chapter of my life.

Because of HPF, I was able to focus on healing and regaining stability without the pain of losing my dog altogether. I was able to come home to Rosie once life steadied again, and I truly can’t imagine what that season would have looked like without Mia and Cade’s generosity. Even now, it feels almost too good to be true that such a life-giving solution exists. I will always be profoundly grateful for the care, integrity, and love offered to both me and Rosie.”

“During a season marked by painful extenuating circumstances, providing the level of care my sweet dog deserved became impossible. From the very beginning, Mia stepped in with compassion and enthusiasm. She never made me feel ashamed for needing help. Instead, she met me with warmth and encouragement, and I felt so humanized by the whole experience.

Mia and Cade’s deep respect for the bond between Rosie and me meant the world. They were always intentional in reminding me that Rosie was my dog, never overstepping, never assuming, only lovingly caring for her during the gap when I couldn’t. That sensitivity alone speaks volumes about their character and the heart behind the HPF mission.”

“One warm June day, we welcomed Rosie, a spirited Golden Retriever, into our home as our foster baby until her owner could be reunited with her. While the initial adjustment with our German Shepherd, Brodie, took some patience, the two soon became inseparable siblings. Rosie learned from Brodie’s wisdom, and in return, she brought out his playful spirit, creating a new rhythm of walks and cuddles in our Dallas apartment.

Our journey was guided by Julie, whose expertise in dog behavior helped us truly understand Rosie’s needs. Under her mentorship, we watched Rosie flourish, becoming more confident in our leadership as we grew into our new roles as her stewards. Through this process, we realized we weren’t just fostering a pet—we were protecting a family. Rosie reminded us that love doesn’t end when circumstances get hard; it just needs a little help holding on.

When we unexpectedly lost Brodie in October, Rosie became our rock. She gave us a reason to get out of bed, meeting our grief with a gentle love that sustained us. We don’t believe in coincidences; Rosie was meant to be with us for those five months, serving as a light and the first official HPF foster. Seeing her reunited with her owner has inspired us to continue this mission. Rosie entered our lives unexpectedly, but she left a permanent paw print on our hearts.”
